Now that you have had an opportunity to peruse my portfolio, you can also read a little bit about my background:
I grew up in Portland, Oregon; since graduating high school, I have lived in five different states and traveled across most of the U.S. in my beat-up Jetta. Now I am living in Washington, D.C, 2500 miles away from my former home and am enjoying everything that the capital has to offer — from the cherry blossoms to the protests on the mall.
This is particularly germane because I am a photojournalist. As a photojournalist, I make it my mission to take pictures that capture the most important moments of people's lives. I document emotion frame-by-frame. And despite the direction some say the publishing world is going, I plan to keep shooting photos until I can no longer move my shutter finger.
My dream is to shoot professional sports and travel abroad as a foreign correspondent, sharing stories from around the world. But in the meantime while I climb that ladder, I plan on gaining invaluable experience at various publications and photographing weddings and birthday parties on the side for fun.
I have shot for various publications, including the Fort Myer Pentagram, Montana Kaimin, Portage Daily Register, Montana Journalism Review and the Times Community papers of Northern Virginia. I have also been published by The Washington Post and by the Associated Press. I am available for freelance assignments in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
